NL// De serie Container is ontstaan vanuit mijn interesse in de vraag of materialen herinneringen kunnen vasthouden en nostalgie kunnen oproepen. Voor Prospects maakte ik de eerste drie wandreliëfs, die te zien waren tijdens Art Rotterdam 2026. Elk reliëf ontstaat door het verzamelen van materiaal uit openbare afvalcontainers, met name fragmenten die worden gebruikt voor de bouw van buiten- en binnenmuren. Van deze resten worden mallen gemaakt, waarna het gevonden materiaal transformeert tot een soort artefact. Tijdens het maakproces voeg ik fragmenten toe van foto’s van plaatsen die ik ooit heb bezocht. Zo ontstaat er een wisselwerking tussen het gevonden materiaal en mijn eigen herinneringen.

EN// The series Container originated from an interest in whether certain materials can hold memory and evoke nostalgia. For Prospects, I made the first three wall reliefs, which were shown during Art Rotterdam 2026. Each relief begins with collecting material from public waste containers, specifically fragments used in the construction of exterior and interior walls. From these remnants, molds are made, allowing the found material to transform into a kind of artifact. During the process of making these sculptures, I add fragments of photographs of places I once visited. In this way, a dialogue emerges between the found material and my own recollections.
