Working in between sculpture and painting, I investigate the urban residue, overlooked material we have chosen to leave behind. This residue becomes visible in the fragments and byproducts of our constant need to construct, demolish, renew, and repair. The origin of a work mostly starts with found matter, material that holds the imprint of a past life. By working and reworking these found materials I try to get a hold of the dynamics between time, transformation, and our impulse to renew the spaces we inhabit.

I am drawn to the moment in which value dissolves into waste. I fantasize about the purpose these materials once had and whether they can hold memory of their past. How can fragments tell a story of the place they once belonged to, and can these fragments intertwine with my own personal memory? Through collecting and working with found materials such as packaging, rubble, or construction waste, I explore what we choose to discard.

I studied Fine Arts at the Willem de Kooning Academy in Rotterdam (BA, 2020) and completed an Erasmus programme at the University of the West of England in Bristol. My work has been shown in various group exhibitions, including ALL INN (Het Hem, 2021), De Belofte #17 (Kunstliefde, 2022), Nothing For Something (Gallery Ellipsis, 2023), Al Dente (WOLF_RT Spaces, 2024), and Wiggle Room (Het Archief, 2025). I participated in residencies at _Lab 22 (The Hague, 2022) and Destination Unknown (Heerlen, 2024). I recently showed my latest body of work in my first solo exhibition Keepsake at VLAK (Rotterdam, 2025).
